Head Start provides children with a learning environment and varied experiences which help them develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally in a manner appropriate to their age and stage of development.
There are 20 classrooms with a teacher and teacher assistant in each class that provide developmentally appropriate activities to children including those with disabling conditions.
The "Creative Curriculum" which is the base curriculum for the program, ensures that teachers provide many opportunities for children to plan, think about, reflect on and revisit their own experiences.
Teachers engage children in discussion and representation activities such as dictating, writing, drawing, painting, modeling in clay and picture reading.
The classrooms are print rich environments where children are able to explore the world of letters, numerals, colors, shapes, and words.
